My visit up to New York City
So, I just finally got a chance to sit down and download a few pictures off of my camera that I took of my quasi-vacation up to New York City last week.
Here's the post of us planning the get together. http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=989255 I started off the journey with a meet with a bunch of the New York City M5 and M6 crew at a nice restaurant north of the city. Got to meet a bunch of great guys last week, even V12 showed up for a few minutes. After hanging out with those guys I then hung out in Manhattan until Saturday. On Friday I took a drive up to the Legendary Bear Mountain and even stopped by to see our good friends at AutoCouture in NJ. On Saturday I made it to the BMW Headquarters in Woodcliff, NJ for a pretty unannounced Open House Event put on by the BMW Car Club of America. The event was pretty awesome. They had a full buffet continental breakfast for free and they had ALL of BMW's new products coming out in the next few months. Everything they had there included: - 2015 X4 - 2015 Alpina B6 Gran Coupe - 2015 i8 - 2015 i3 - 2015 M3 - 2015 M4 - 2015 428i Gran Coupe I got to sit in each and play with everything. It was cool. Plus it was great to see the colors of the cars in the sunlight instead of in a showroom. Getting to see Yas Marina Blue in person and in the sunlight next to my Riviera Blue M5 was a great comparison too. The Yas Marina is a bit darker and I looked really closely and got to see the gray metal flakes in the paint in the sunlight. I really loved the i8 the most and it reminded me most of the Mclaren 12C/650S, with the way that you have to climb over the tub-like cockpit to get into the drivers seat. Also, it was my first time seeing the F80 with the standard steel brakes and the 6MT transmission. I played with the clutch and it felt pretty light, which was nice. Also I didn't realize that the door sill on the rear doors of the F80 M3 doesn't have any kind of ///M logo or ///M3 logo on it, another benefit that the M5 has over the F80 M3 I guess. Well hope you enjoy the story and the pictures.

Great pics. The pic of the f80 took away any order remorse I have about by future m5. The back seat is just a bit too small. The black rims do look good although not my style.
