BMW X6M vs... Ford SVT Raptor

I did a double take when I read that title. But the guys over at 0-60 mag somehow got their hands on both of these cars and did a head to head. For now, all they are putting out is a teaser of the comparo, so we don't know the results. But the SVT Raptor is nothing to laugh at so it will be interesting to see how the X6M stacks up.

I'll just ask my friend. He owns an X5M AND the Raptor. He owns each of his cars, on average, for perhaps three MONTHS!!

And yes, interesting comparison.... apples...... oranges....

God I hate this tho. I dont know who to root for. Im a Ford guy through and through...but I am slowly converting to BMW.

It takes the Raptor like 7 seconds to hit 0-60, it is a great off road truck with wild styling and nothing more. Worst comparison ever.

rode in a raptor not too long ago...for a ford truck pretty impressive but def not comparable to a X6M...they arent anything alike

Looking at the video I think they are doing a Top Gear sort of comparison. X6M will be driven on the road and Raptor will be driven off road. Winner is whichever that gets to the destination first.

Two ridiculously overpowered vehicles, that don't make a lot of sense in practical terms. I'm sure they will rarely be used as pick up trucks or SUVs, and they're not quite sports cars either, but what the hell...

Boys will be boys, and we love our toys.
So if BMW and Ford can build and sell vehicles so over the top,
Then a comparison that is just as outrageous suddenly seems just about right to me.

considering the X6 ///M (and X5 ///M) are not designed or built to be taken off the road ever this is not the best comparo ever..

This is the inevitable result of the M division building a truck. The M5 was never compared to a Ford Taurus SHO.

Wait, what...... the X5 and X6 M are built for on road and off road although I know not every one will take them off road. I have been to the BMW plant in SC where they build them and they have a very radical off road course to show off their capabilities. They are built to handle some pretty rough stuff.

Still bad comparo, should have been X6M against another SUV like range rover sport or the Merc GL

Sorry, this kind of comparison is stupid. Why aren't they comparing the raptor to an audi r8 or a corvette . just plain stupid. I guess they must be losing subscribers and did the "sensational whatever" to try and stem the tide.

One could easily compare the SHO to an E90 335i.

And there is a series of videos called 6 versus 8, where M&T I think it was took a new MKS, basically a Lincoln SHO, and put it in a hill climb event against an M5, S55, Maserati Quattroporte, and a Jag XF R.

It came in second, only behind the M5.

Fords do compare to Euro brands and while this is an odd comparo, it should be a good one.

I don't hate fords just think it's a stupid comparison.
comparing the mustang to the z28 is reasonable comparison, x6 to raptor dumb.
