Serious problem with E53 X5 3.0d HELP!!!
Hey guys... i really hope someone can help me out..
I drive a 2005 X5 3.0d with around 72000km. The car had been troublefree for the first 60000km but then disaster struck. For some reason or other, when acceleration (and more pronounced under full acceleration) the car begun to wobble really badly. I thought that it would go away and didnt go to my local service for at least 5000km. when i did they told me that the two rubber mounts (?) that support the engine had leaked and for that reason the engine was moving, and consequently this was causing the wobbling. After they were replaced, the wobble did mostly go away for about 2000km. In the meantime i tried replacing all four tyres but to no avail. Once the wobble came back i went back to my service rep and was told that unfortunately the movement of the engine had damaged the driver side output shaft (part number 31607565313 as can be seen in this link http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...21&hg=31&fg=05 )... Unfortunately right now i cant afford to buy two original output shafts from bmw and was hoping someone could help me. 1) i saw a US manufacturer EMPI selling replacement output shafts (they call them drive axles?). I tried calling and ordering one to be shipped to the UK but they dont want to ... Are there any other companies that i can look at ?? 2) ON EBAY i found some CV joints. Can i replace the CV joints and cure the problem? why can i only buy Outer CV joints? MANY THANKS |
