2009 X5 6 cylinder 3.0
Hey there,
My girlfriend has a 2009 X5 6 cylinder, 3.0 RWD with 90k miles. She is the original owner. I am deciding if I should inherit this SUV as a spare vehicle. I need to tow 1200lb jetski/waverunner about 10-12 times a year (about 3-4k miles a year) Is this vehicle worth keeping? My concern is the expensive repairs. I am handy and can do my own maintenance. Carvana appraised at $4.3k. Looking for some feedback. Thanks, TT |

Cant literally anything tow a jetski? I would just have a hitch installed on your other vehicle.
Look on autotrader, cargurus, etc to see what you could really sell it for - I'd bet it would sell for around $8k fairly quickly even though its rwd. 90k miles is on the lower side for a 2009, and some people like the simplicity of the naturally aspirated inline 6. 14 years old and almost 100k miles you're probably going to need to start replacing all the rubber bits in the engine, suspension, etc as they will dry out and crack. With that said the engine is much easier to work on and there is a lot less to go wrong compared to the later turbo inline 6. |
