X5 with M57 or N57..

Good morning people, beginner here, at least on this platform, previously owner of e91 330xd and N54 for a while.
I have decided to buy an used E70, between 2008 and 2010, less than 100k and I'm not sure about the engine.M57 or N57.
I'm a bit on the fence , though I'm used to act on the DIY side, that should keep in mind.
Lastly, driving more than ones I discovered the goodness of the 8HP vs the old 6H zf, even though with a good careless/maintenance (maybe adding XHP flashing) its' not like night and day.
All in all, the big issue is knowing more as possible if the M57n2 (286cv) is comparable to the"new" N57tu2(the 313 cv..) on the reliability side. It remains my concern.
I have read and met more than one new engine warranty substituted from Bmw about oil pump and chain timing failures.

So, I am waiting your opinions ...experiences.

I thought the n57 and the 8hp only arrived on the 40D
From 2011 on.

Affirmative re 40d, however it was from 2010 on (lci).

Yes, I can confirm that.
My mistake to indicate 2010 as last year considered.I was meaning 40d or 2011.
So everything remain, taking aside the different 6hp 8hp transmission I like to read your opinions, between the M57 286 cv and the N57TU2 40d mounted.
