Looking for a reference
Hi guys, my car was just in the body ship to get the front end repaired after an accident, now that I have the car back I noticed the area underneath the fender looking in from the engine bay and am wondering if there was a trim piece of some sort that covered it on either side. I don't recall being able to see the windshield washer fluid reservoir directly from the engine bay. Can you guys please take a look at your cars and let me know if the shop forgot something or if I'm just going insane, thanks very much.

Help us help you better...if you provided your model/model year (details about what you have)...then there could be a lot of info that could be easy to share or direction to point you in. Although 90% of things may be the same...there are enough changes based on model year/build date and models that could be different.
We have nothing to go on...and why have the forum members post pics and provide other information that may not apply. Model, model year, build date goes a long way in helping us to help you better. {BTW, I can't see your pics because my net-nanny is blocking it for some reason..so another good reason to provide vehicle info} attached images are: left & right sides of a 2012 X5 35d engine bay Last edited by Qsilver7; 09-27-2017 at 11:20 AM.. |

Bulkhead Partitions
It's a little hard to judge without the pictures being further back, but are you missing the bulkhead partitions? They're 3 plastic pieces that rest near the cowl. Or if its the gap further forward of that it could be the steering gear covers.
Items 10 & 14 are the bulkhead partitions and Items 1 & 2 are the steering gear covers in the below link/image: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_6430

I have a 2010 X5M and I went out and looked at mine. It is the same as yours.
The windshield washer bottle is visible. This makes sense, since you could see the level of washer fluid. At least that's what I would think. Hope this helps you. |

There are two foam "sealing elements" that go there on each side. Body shops don't pay enough attention to the details to know to put them back. Yours are missing.
