My 2012 X6 50i (Black Engine Cover) starting to burn oil after 50k miles. I am sure the engine will last a long time if you keep doing your regular maintenance and replace parts. So far the most expensive things I have replaced for this car are upper/oil pan gasket, Vacuum pump, Injectors (Under Customer Care Package), Front Driveshaft (Under Customer Care Package), Transmission fluid mix and programming.
Currently I am at 65k miles and I am planning to keep the car until 100k miles for sure. It is a great car for sure but expensive to keep. Something I have to watch out for will be O2 sensors, valve stem seals, torque converter (vibration on the low end accelerations) btw my car was produced in 07/2011 |

I am at 105k, and it burns oil like its $3 a quart. Knock on wood other then that nothing too hateful. I have done a rear o2 sensor, and I currently have one bad coil pack.
I am doing 10k oil changes because I am doing a quart of oil every 500-1000 miles. If I the low end of that is because one time I was using Castrol 5w-20 when I saw the 500 mile oil usage. I have transitioned to 15w-50 Mobile 1. It is cheaper when I can buy the 5 gallon jugs for $26, vs the $10 per quart on the Castrol synthetic oil. It has also held in the motor a little better, so the oil usage may be a combination of PCV usage, and valve seal usage.

The M's run 10/60, so we will see what happens with 15w50. I have had it in the truck for a good bit of time now.
