How do you bed in your RS29?

Last year when I beded in the RS29, I did on hwy and strictly followed the standard bed-in process, doing some soft brakings from 150 to 80 kmh and some hard ones from 180 to 60 kmh. I don't wanna take risk on hwy this time, but unfortunately the track doesn't have long enough straight runway to allow me to accelerate to any speed close to 160. So I can't bed-in the pads on track. Any good suggestions under this situation?

Really?! It's good to hear that, although I still wanna figure out a way to bed it in.

Yea in my op I called this "standard bed-in process". I just wanna know if there is a simpler way to bed in, because I can't reach 150kmh.

You can attempt to bed them in on the street, but even then it's hard to get them quite up to the same temperatures as they see on the track. even after I thought I bedded in my 29's (backroads), they still smelled and smoked a bit on the first session out on track. I didn't even bother with the Ferodo endurance pads this time around and they were fine during the first session.

It's described here.

I follow the StopTech instructions, which require fewer and lower speed braking cycles. This has worked for me with RS29s over the past ~2 years:
http://stoptech.com/technical-suppor...in-suggestions

If I swap pads between DEs the same month, I don't make any extra effort to bed-in RS29s (OEM pads go in after the event) beyond using the brakes on the way to the track.

If it's been more than a month (and RS29 pad material transfer layers has worn off), I go back to full bedding.

The most fun I ever had with brake pads was after doing the pads on my Odyssey right after prepping the M3.
Somehow, I had forgotten that I was out to bed street Honda pads and not RS29s.
After 3rd or 4th 60-10 mph heating cycle, I saw some smoke upfront. It was late at night, I was tired, there was fog in the air, my brain wasn't working. During the 5th braking cycle, the entire front of the car got engulfed in smoke, including the windshield. It was spectacular.

I rebooted my brain, drove home gingerly, coasting and cooling the pads all the way.
They still smelled after I parked, but those OEM Honda pads have been buttery smooth ever since...

You'll get enough transfer material on your rotors after your first session on the track. I used to bed them in bla bla bla and now I don't even bother.

Same, no bedding. I swap my pads a day or two before driving to an HPDE. I just take a couple of laps around the neighborhood at night with some hard stops just to make sure that everything feels right. I swap them back a day or two after returning home and do the same thing with the stock pads.

RS29 are very compatible with the OEM pads somehow. I bed them according to the Stoptech instructions first morning on the way to the track, close to the track usually on back roads.

5 to 6 hard but smooth stops from 80-20 usually does it, just watching for the moment they get a little soft, then carry on to the track without touching the brakes. Worked every time.
