BoostedNYC Into
I have to say I'm excited to be a part of the e70 x5m community. I was able to get my hands on a 13' Alpine white with the Mugello Red interior, every option available and the upgraded headlamps under 40k miles. I've always wanted this car and I finally own one.
I been reading a lot through the forums and any tips or knowledge you can pass my way would be appreciated (maintenance, mods, do's and don'ts etc) These are the following mods I came up with and will be installed over the course of time: Powerflex thrust arm bushings & swaybar bushings black (can someone provide a link?) pure turbos stage 1 or 2 dependent on much the trans can hold at a later date IND's cosmetic package - some reason I cannot find the front roundel on ind's site for our cars velos tune or jb4 kw v3s AR Design downpipes or custom w/ fully custom exhaust PTP turbo blanket Cf front splitter after the tune (anyone heard of European auto source?) Rear Cf valence after the tune p3cars gauge X6 hybrid powerdome hood last on the list of mods I will most likely do the tune first. I'm torn between the 2 tunes (velos stage 2 and the jb4) I see most tunes are the same and make the same power with dp's. Don't want to spend extra money if I don't have too. Your opinions are appreciated. See interior pic as a teaser until the car comes in. -Rob Last edited by BoostedNYC; 04-25-2017 at 10:29 AM.. |

congrats, nice color combo
as far as IND goes, call Ryan @ IND and tell him what you need/want he'll help you out, they don't list front and back roundels on their website! keep us updated on the progress and maybe more pictures? |

BTW your car is put together very well. Looks beautiful. Soon as I get the car in my possession I will be active and post pics for all to see. Just want to get this tuning down so I can move forward. Here's a pic of the E36 I had until I get the other M in my hands.

Thank you sir, I have it for 1.5 years and that small list of mods getting bigger all the time
I might be able to answer few of u questions: Powerflex thrust arm bushings & swaybar bushings black (can someone provide a link?) - I don't have a link but talk to Kimo m5 guy he might be able to help you with info! pure turbos stage 1 or 2 dependent on much the trans can hold at a later date - talk to gixxerboy63, I think he's in the process... velos tune or jb4 - don't know much about jb4, its kinda new for our cars, but Velos is proven very good and support from Omar is outstanding! kw v3s - you can't go wrong with KW V3, btw it's the onle V for our cars, we can help you with settings if needed! PTP turbo blanket - u can check with Kimo again! Cf front splitter after the tune (anyone heard of European auto source?) Rear Cf valence after the tune I'm not sure if you looking for Vorsteiner or replica? If you looking for Replica I can provide best eBay seller I've used (4motors) quality and fit is top notch p3cars gauge - pretty small cool mod, but kinda useless at least I found it to be not very helpful X6 hybrid powerdome hood last on the list of mods - last on the list, I heard this before I think I might be one of not too many on here who actually done it, if you have any questions, just ask! Good luck again |

Please pm the details of the cf ebay seller. I was going to go with Vorsteiner and saw that European auto source had a nice deal for them. But if the quality is good and so is fitment from the ebay seller, I can spend the money elsewhere.

Awesome, subscribed.
Another tune suggestion: TTFS out of Crofton, MD. I've seen a few guys from NY make the trip down to Frank's shop for tunes. I've had his tune in my E39 M5 for years and love it. I plan on getting the 35d in there at some point (35d made great power! - http://tuningtechfs.com/blog/2013-bmw-x5-35d-diesel/). If you talk to Frank, tell him Jon sent you (Oxford M5).

Is this the link to the one you purchased? http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E71-X6M-...gAAOxy8HlSbmU~ The shipping kills it at that price as its almost $1K total. That price is slowly approaching a Vorsteiner front lip. Just wondering if maybe you saw a different price when you purchased? Thanks |

u'll need to dremel small piece of plastic in the middle of the holder, so the filters can sit full way in. check out this thread: http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showt...=831521&page=3 good luck! |

I'm running stacked...Halim/HCP stage 2 tune and JB4. Tune alone was night and day, stacked makes it a fucking monster. Halim is working on a stage 3 that he says will make the JB4 unnecessary but I'll be keeping it anyways for it's ECU readings (10x more stuff than the P3 gauge can do) and meth control...I can feel the differences going from 30* weather to 60* weather and meth will make it feel like colder temps year around. PTP blankets are a waste of time IMHO opinion unless your doing power levels above mine...the stock turbo cover does the same thing. Much above 750hp and you're going to start slipping the trans, which means $5k rebuild...I'm personally looking into a DCT swap from an S63TU.

Thank you :-) In hindsight I should have weighed the truck before and after...I'm sure 4 people, all the luggage, emergency tools (socket sets, floor jack, spare tire (I usually leave it unless taking road trips), etc for Bimmerfest and enough alcohol to feed a small village had an affect :-D
I can definitely tell I need meth though, the 20*-30* lower temps bring back here in Seattle makes a noticeable difference during daily driving...winter was even more so. |

James if you DCT swap it you're gonna be a fuckin legend.
The booth I was at when we were talking at Bimmerfest (Studio RSR) is going to DCT swap an e60 soon I believe. Gintani already did it but it seems others are not far behind
