Droning/Humming feel when turning at 1100 - 1300 RPM
Hello Guys ,
I just wanted to see if anybody has the same issue as I do. I have a 2012 E71 X6M with 45000 KM right now I first noticed the issue around 23000 KM. Whenever the car is within the range of 1100 to 1300 RPM, then if I move the steering wheel as I move to left or right, I get a "Droning/Humming" feel underneath the front end of the car, it feels like something is moving or rubbing underneath. The feel would go away once the steering wheel is straight or out of the 1100 - 1300 RPM range I had the car checked out at multiple dealerships, and nobody could really tell me why this is happening, so they refuse to acknowledge the issue Routine checks: - Steering fluid checked okay - Everything is tight underneath - Tires changed from Summer to All Season - Bearings are good If anybody has the same experience, please share Thank you very much in advance |

Are the tire's a BMW recommended with the five pointed star on the sidewall?
Some tire's don't work as well as others in particular cars. If you had the BMW star then we can assume it's not a tyre tread pattern creating a vibration. |

It could have to do with feathered tire. I was told by a mechanic that BMW suspension design is prone to cause tire to feathered over time, thus causing this kind of humming noise.
Not sure how diligent was your dealer or mechanic checking out your tire wear. |
