x5m reduced power after hard acceleration
Does anyone know what the issue could be? It only comes on when im going like 30-40mph and lay into the gas completely. As soon as I turn the car off it's gone and wont come back on unless I really floor the thing. thanks

It could be any number of things. The codes need to be pulled that will show all codes including BMW specific codes. That is the only way to know what is going on.

Boost leak would be my guess. Scan the car.

what does it say joe planet? you think I'm asking for an exact diagnosis? I'm asking, just to get an idea what to expect if any of the other M guys have had this issue.

Injectors, fuel pump, boost leak (cracked vacuum line), crack in the charge pipe, bad O2 sensor, bad gas... Honestly the list goes on. Buy a bluetooth OBD dongle and scan the car, its very simple. Do you work in Manhattan? We can meet and you can borrow mine for the night.

alright, so I checked the air filter and it was pretty dirty. I changed the filters and have floored the truck numerous times and reduced power is not coming on now. does anyone know if it's possible a dirty air filter would cause that light to come on at WOT? seems a little crazy..

If you can get to Brooklyn, I will scan it for free. I have the Reingold machine to scan. It will pull all the codes and can run tests, reset adaptations, etc.
