Tyre recommendations
I am taking delivery of my M3 with the std 18 inch wheels and tyres on and then removing them immediately and saving them for track use.
Im pretty much settled on a set of 19 inch breyton spirit black/polished edge wheels (AW car with black leather so Im sticking to the black/white theme). However, I'm not sure what to go for on tyres. Bear in mind this will be for day to day road use as I'll have the 18s with factory tyres on for track. I have run Pirelli PZero Nero 235/35/19s on my Audi for 2 years and found them to be excellent all rounders, I wonder if they would be suitable for the M? Should I aim (if its possible) to buy the same tyres that the OEM 19s come with? I believe the sizes would be 235/35 R19 Front and 265/30R19? Thanks for any advice. |

I know BMW recommend Michelin Pilot Sport 2 but the best tyres for any money is Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric.

Sizing wise, you should be running:
245/35/19 Front 265 OR 275/30/19 Rear As for the tires themselves I recommend Nitto Invo, Toyo T1R, Ecsta SPT. Granted taht the PS2s and the Neros are great tire but you should be spending that kind of money just day to day tires. Don't get me wrong, they're good tires, just TOO much tire for daily driving, just me 2 cents. |

Stock size is 245/35/19 and 265/35/19.
M3 is DESIGNED to be run with high traction tires. OEM makers spend much time to set up the suspension to work with specific tires that is equipped with the car esp for high performance cars. Please get tires that's similar performance range as PS2, or else you will significantly affect the overall handling of the car even if you are just driving streets. |
