Help with towing question
I am thinking of purchasing a 2012 X5 xDrive50i but am concerned with the towing as that is the main reason I am getting it over a regular car. I need something to tow a 1500lb trailer and 3600lb E92. Any input from members about towing experience especially when towing up towards the 6000lb limit would be appreciated. Also, how was your hitch installed? Did it look ok since I am assuming they would have to cut a portion of the back bumper out? As always, I appreciate all of your help!

No problem ... the X5 50i will handle it like a champ!
Make sure you use a BMW OE hitch, install and get it coded properly. Search is your friend ... lots of posts on this and the superiority of the X5 as a towing vehicle.

I have 08 4.8 and tow about 5K easily...feels very stable at hwy speeds. My trailer is about 1800lbs n my E36 about 3150lbs and I load about 200lbs of gear in the X as well. Go for it!
