Spring is here and my windshield and headlights are covered with thousands of dead insects from 1 hour of night driving

It was so bad that I had to stop at a gas station to wash off the bug or else I would not have been able to look through the windshield.

Is there a glass coating that I can apply to the windshield so bugs don’t stick to the glass that easily?

Aquapel, Rain-X, etc. - any of the rain repellent products will help.

As noted, look into a glass sealant. Nextzett makes one - it will add a hydrophobic barrier and make it far easier to clean stuff off:

Yeah, it happens this time of the year.

Ceramic coating or glass-coating the windshield will help some, but it will not completely solve the problem. If you are driving fast enough to splatter bug guts all over the front of your car, physics will still win and bugs will still get splattered.

Griot's Glass Sealant is my current favorite:
https://www.griotsgarage.com/glass-sealant-8-ounces/

Smoother windshield glass (from ceramic coating) will help your wipers, but at some point, large enough insects will still overwhelm the wipers or smeared guts will not come off without chemical help. I have a paper towel roll and glass cleaner in my trunk just for those occasions (and to clean glass between DE sessions).
