Three free future oil services, up to $75 per service. Free engine replacement. Reimbursement of past oil services, up to $75. Reimbursement up to $50 for the cost of one towing/rental/roadside assistance expense incurred. Reimbursement for the cost of a replacement battery that was less than 3 years old. Voucher worth $1,000 to $1,500 to be used on a new BMW vehicle. More benefits. " For a new engine, would have been worth it! I didn't get any letter though, as I'm only a Canuck. Any class actions for Canadians?? |

"Free" Engine replacement is not really free as you have pay a share of the cost depending on the mileage of the vehicle. If you have already driven 100k miles then your share will be 50-60 percent of the total free value |

Picked the car up today. Seems to run very well, the dealer did a great job. They replaced the valve seals, and a bunch of gaskets including valve cover gaskets. They also did the oil change and new battery, all under warranty.
I had them replace turbo coolant lines while they were at it. Also, there was a CEL being caused by vanos solenoid valve. They only charged me for the cost of the valve, no labor. Three years ago they already replaced this valve under warranty and it failed again, unless they have more than one of the same valves. |

After the repair it went through a quart in 2000k miles, now needs another quart after 800 miles. I don't know if I should bother complaining again or just let it be.

Have the dealer tested again. I had a new engine put in at around 90k miles under the settlement. I was using a quart every 800 miles. My issue was due to one of the cylinders having bad compression. From what I read these engines had a lot of cylinder/ring issues also.
