X5 iDrive CIC unit Advice
Hello,
My iDrive/Nav/Radio etc has been flaky last 6 months, random shut off and reboots, red screen. Now it never comes on, just a black screen, it never boots up. The 20A fuse in rear fuse panel is good. Attached are screen shots of ISTA-D. What else should I try before I swap out the CIC? When searching for a replacement part, what part numbers are good for my 2011 X5 35d? Thank You!! |

Yes, I tried every combination mentioned on the net.
I was curious what everyone on here thought before I gave my theory on what happened. You see the older codes show over temperature. When the problem first started, it may run for a few hours then shut down. Then not as long. At the end it would only stay on for a few minutes and then shutdown. - Now it does not come on at all My theory is the fan started to die, or air flow was restricted and got worse, so that the fan ended up dying so the unit overheated soo often that something finally got fried. I felt like changing the unit was a good try, I just hate changing parts that don't need it. Anyone else have any wisdom to share? Is there an online guide to updating the VIN/coding to match my vehicle? my vehicle is a 2011 X5 and I bought a used CIC iDrive out of a 2012 X5. (Thanks -c- ) |
