What should I cross-shop against the Genesis G70?
I've had my eyes set on a Giulia QV but I can get a company discount on a loaded Genesis G70 3.3t bringing the price down to $38,000 (MSRP $52000).
What other new or slightly used car should I be looking at that fits into the same category and price point? A G70 is a far cry from a QV but its hard to not think about the warranty and substantial discount. |

I think the Kia Stinger will be close to this price as well.

Are the MSRP's artificially inflated or do they just not sale??? Never seen anything like that with other car makes It seems every new one on Autotrader has a $85,000 msrp and yet has a $65,000 sale price....it's not a good look imo I sure wish the Caymans I've been looking at had $20,000 discount off the MSRP |

Aside from the bait and switch about manuals, it's kind of a neat car, but like the CTS and ATS V, no one wants one. When the M3 and C63 exist, I don't really see a reason to pick one of these. |

1st you have to know what are you looking from a car.
Hyundai is totally dull and joyless to drive, even the "sporty" one. Most important ,test drive the car you wanna buy.

2. Is there any external "politics" around the purchase? Can you buy and sell within a year? A big enough discount and it might be worth buying even just to own for a year. I have an inherent bias against the car, but I have to admit I've noticed some attractive angles in its styling.

2. Has to be registered in my name for at least 6 months, after that it's free game Out of curiosity, why the bias? I'm going to test drive a g70 this weekend along with a RS3. QV is the one to beat. |

My bias stems from believing the engineering and build quality is on par with BMW (my baseline). Also, I think some styling details missed the mark. An example being the G70 snout.
If it were me I'd buy the G70 with the intention of it being a transitionary vehicle. You probably could sell it for your purchase price after owning it for a while. Maybe you'll fall in love with it. The RS3 is really small. I'm not short at 6', but I literally don't fit in the back seat. Beware.
