The best tune is going to be a "tuner" who will work with you to reach your specific goals. Right now, that is only AA/Velos/etc. who do remote DME tunes via a K+DCAN cable. They are very expensive right now due to lack of competition and the ///M tax.
I would wait until probably this summer. MHD is "supposed" to be launching support for the S63, at which point tuning will be much easier and a boatload cheaper.

Thanks for the fast reply. I never heard of MHD I assume they are reputable if your mentioning them. Can you elaborate what is going to make theirs so much more affordable?
I spoke with active autowerks they quoted me $1400 including tune and Simon cable to upload to ecu, does this sounds expensive? It seems fair for a gain of 86 hp, and that seems to be the strongest on the market, but doesn't mean it's the best which is why I'm here. Is your X6m tuned by chance? And do you know anyone with a river autowerks? Thank you |

MHD is company/app that allows you to flash tunes to your car with a cheapo (<$100) cable that you attach to any android/iOS device. They are very big in various BMW communities. Started on the N54 I believe but that's grown a lot. It's more affordable because the app is cheap, the cable is cheap, and then any good BMW tuner will be able to tune for the car without a specialty cable. I know Motiv will be jumping on that bandwagon, and their tunes are usually a few hundred dollars. I haven't seen anyone actually use those on an S63, so I don't know about their results. I will say though: it's a piggyback tuner, so it will not be able to do advanced DME features like delete cold start, remove the catless DP CEL, etc. I wouldn't go with it.

All depends how deep into the machine you wanna go! +98hp is the claim on the s63, and so far other applications claims have stood up to as advertised. |

More fuel, more air, more power. Some guys say you can run O2 foolers to prevent cel, but no it doesn't tune it out. |

Racechip says a huge increase, but in fact will get 30-40 hp maximum. It can not be compared with real ECU tune.
Now i have BR Perfomance stage2 tuned for 93 fuel. 0-60 3.9sec 60-160 10.2sec Somebody measured Velos stage2? |

I was just talking with MHD a few days ago about the flash tune I'm running on the GF's 535xiT and I brought up S63 tuning again...they still have no plans of touching our platform

I'm running an HCPerformance tune from Halim, but he's hard to reach since he's buried in the M5/M6 and M2/M3/M4 market which is much hotter than our forgotten about platform that only ran for 3yrs before being upgraded to S63TU in the newer platforms.

Don't know of any good tuners up in Edmonton unfortunately. That said, I have the Velos tune on my X5 and am very happy with it. |

It's hard to say who's best because who out there has run more than one tune? I may think mine is the best, someone else may think theirs is the best. Heck, even two cars can run two different tunes and one might be faster than the other, but that doesn't necessarily mean ones better than the other because of variables like AF ratios, curb weight, etc etc.
