Tailgate De-badge tutorial?
Hi was just looking to see if anyone has a tutorial/video on how to remove the BMW badge on the tailgate, tried to find some on Youtube but only found the removal of the hood badge. Reason being that my back emblem is a dented near the "M" and I would like to swap all the emblems to the black on black one

Emblems just have a sticky back tape on them so with a little tooth floss or fishing line you should be able to slide it on the backside and pull it off by curtail through the tape. This is how it is on most BMWs so I'd imagine it's the same for the E70.

Does this work the same on the back or is it just the front? |

The sticky tape is about 1cm wide around the outside of the roundel. Floss just as shown and go around in a circle. The pegs will prevent you from going straight across. Should come off easy.

Below are instructions to remove the entire rear emblem which includes the trim and the roundel. You can use dental floss, fishing line or the IND Distribution tools.
http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1112728 If you haven't bought one yet, below is an IND pre painted rear emblem. It's painted black. The trim and roundel are sold as one unit. I was thinking about getting this but sticking with OEM look for now. http://ind-distribution.com/ind/bran...k-roundel-trim |

My tailgate M badge is water damaged (somehow got into the color under the protective layer and discolored it)... where to get a new one cheap (but not looking cheap)?

I'm keeping the round center trim and roundel as is but dipping/painting X5M emblem black.
I thought about a black roundel and black trim around it but thought it's too much. |

I tried dipping the emblem and it worked but some of the dip, when still liquid, seeped into the sealed area. Now there's a bit of black dip under the seal and on the faded stripes. Working with dealership to get M badge and stripes replaced under warranty. |
