Help Needed: Winter Setup
Hello Friends,
There have been a lot of winter treads here, but I think my question may be different. I have a 07 X5 4.8i Sport with 20inch wheels. I rather not take this to the snow with my summer tires. I found a guy on craigslist selling his 2004 X5 wheels with snow tires. I believe the center bore on my X5 is bigger. I plan to get wheel spacers to go from 74.1 to 76.2mm for the new wheels. Has anyone done this? or is the even a good idea? I plant o use the spacer after for summer too. I thought this would be a win win situation? Thanks for any input. |

You need to go from 72.56 (e53) to 74.1 (e70). Best method is to have a competent machine shop bore them out ... should be no more than $40/wheel.
If you want to use hub-centric spacers, use them to bring the wheel out or to compensate for different wheel off-sets. I did this with a style 87 staggered set, 20 inch. Like the 5 spoke design for its simplicity and ease to keep clean.

Custom made, whatever size you want. 15mm minimum. Owner is Lenny. Great place and great product. Tell him Christian sent you from X5 forum. Pricing is less than H&R.
