Velos tune- Just Installed
Guys-
Just wanted to give a brief update that I installed the Velos Tune on my X5M a few weeks ago and have been extremely pleased. Not only was Omar excellent to work with, but the tune was shipped quickly and easy to install. I can tell a distinct difference in the mid-range torque and the turbo's certainly feel like they are "peppier". I also have seen a very slight improvement in highway gas mileage, but I'll need some more time to see if this was an isolated incident or will continue for the duration. (18mpg with spirited highway driving in the range of 75-90mph) I've previously owned M5's and on my most recent E60 M5 I had an Evolve tune that didnt include a handheld unit (just a connection cord). I actually prefer this unit as it is very easy to go back to the original tune with the push of a button. As an FYI, I've also removed my charcoal filters- and this was the #1 thing done on E60 M5's as they really dont serve a huge purpose and removal supposedly adds a few HP and lets the engine breath better. If anyone has any questions on the tune- hit me up. Happy to help and again- support happy with Velos!!!!!!

Glad you are liking the tune. I have no regrets either and it really wakes this beast up.

I installed mine last week and I have exact same feedback except the highway milage thing.
Mid range laziness is gone. with more power/tq, car feel much lighter than before. But as I'm having good time with all the power I found, I'm not getting any good gas mileages at this moment. I was originally considered ESS and Dinan. But Dinan was too much $$ and ESS requires PC every time (which I don't own) so I went with the hand held machine based Velos and I'm very please with their tune and customer service so far.

where are the charcoal filters??? I installed K&N filters a long time ago and didn't see any??
I know what they are, I removed them from my E63, they were back to back with the air filter, my X5m had nothing like that

Just a simple misunderstanding here, he is referring to a NON Mac computer aka a PC.
Our personal tuner also required a PC but operated independently of the PC once the files have been loaded to it. Best Regards, |
