Very Nice! Enjoy! BTW, where are the Laser Shifters?? Sorry to bug but did they let you in on the secret of getting the wires through the firewall
Hope you've been enjoying the heck out of it, we put over 1600 miles on ours over the last week and a half! Getting 19.7mpg on average over those miles though! |

@iFly - I am loving it as well! I "only" have 300 miles on it since Friday. Trying to drive as much as possible to break in the engine as I've been cautious not to break 4,500 rpm yet (so tempting with that awesome exhaust growl and seemingly limitless power).
I sent my installer another note regarding the firewall. They mounted the shifters in the lower, middle grill (the one below the front bumper). They're behind the grill and are located to the far left and far right at the top of that same grill (I suppose would be just left/right of the front plate if I had one). I've not had a chance to test the shifters yet, but the 9500ci is outstanding. It picks up very few false signals (and stores those it picks up 3x in the GPS to prevent future false alerts at same location). It also has picked up a few radar traps well in advance, plenty of time to slow down. That's great, as its REAL easy to speed and feel like you're barely moving! |

Hmm, between the RX and TX diodes does the grill not get in the way?? I would have it tested if possible. The guys on this forum seem pretty accomadating http://www.radardetectorforum.org with the use of Laser guns or even to turn up and test with you.

@ifly - Rec'd some feedback regarding the firewall...
"...my second installer told me he ran them through a grommet panel on the drivers side firewall. He said that there is a panel that needs removed, and there will be a bundle of wires going through one large hole, with little grommets around the outside of it for other upgrades or options available from BMW. We just punched one of them out and ran it through there, it worked great!" |
