We here at PSI just wanted to take a moment and give our first impressions of a recent delivery of a Vorsteiner X5M/X6M carbon fiber front lip spoiler we ordered for a customer. Our customer took full advantage of some special pricing for Vorsteiner components we are offering, grabbing this piece for his X5M! The piece arrived earlier this week from Vorsteiner.

Clear coat looks great on it, as does the overall fit and finish. The piece is VERY lightweight and constructed from Vorsteiner's Carbon Fiber Honeycomb Matrix (CFHM) structure, giving the parts superior stiffness, strength & durability compared to traditional hand laid carbon fiber and fiberglass materials. From what we've heard, the fitment is spot on as well! It appears to use a combination of OEM mounting locations, as well as some double sided tape along the top portion; it should definitely be super rigid once installed.

Let's take a closer look at the weave:

As one would expect from Vorsteiner, impeccable weave. This front lip has 1x1 or "plain weave" carbon fiber; similar to what you have seen in BMW's OEM carbon fiber roof applications in the E46 M3 CSL, E63 M6, E92 M3, F12 M6 and the upcoming M6 Grand Coupe. Personally, this is my favorite weave type, and Vorsteiner delivers with excellent quality once again!

Once we get this mounted on the customer's car, we'll post some pictures for sure!
