My Dinan X6 50i -- pics

I finally got around to taking pics of my X6 50i with the Dinan performance upgrades and cosmetic enhancements. The project was 8 long months in the making, and although the Brembo brakes, black cermaic exhaust tips, and suspension mods look great, the striking difference is in the sound of the exhaust and the noticeable horsepower and toque increases, especially off the line. The turbo lag is completely gone, and when you have the pedal down in Sport mode, the beast really comes out! My car is currently in Stage 1 with an additional 70 HP and 80 ft-lbf of torque, and Dinan's goal is to get it to Stage 3 in the next 3 months. Once all testing has been completed, I will have the exhaust switched out again for something even more aggressive and get the update for extra HP & torque. I have read some threads on warranty concerns, but anyone who lives near a Dinan dealer knows that this a total non-issue. Steve Dinan's name is synonymous with quality and service, as well as with the BMW brand itself. As he told me, just look at his warranty as an adjunct to what BMW offers.

I also included pics of some the after market purchases and add ons I've picked up along the way. The list incudes:

Beyern Mesh Black Wheels with 275/40/20 Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow tires
Illuminated door sills
Bamboo shifter
Bamboo steering wheel
Luggage compartment Cover
Powder coated wheels and front reflectors

How did you get the Beyerns to work on the rear (custom order or hub spacers?)

Pardon my ignorance, but why spend all the premium dollars on Dinan stuff, and then go out and buy Bayern wheels which are known to be of low quality?

If you like it, thats all that matters.

the Beyern wheels and Pirelli tires are for trips to the snow only, I ride on the OEM wheels and tires the rest of the time. The Dinan stuff was all free as part of me offering my car to them for 8 months while they did software and exhaust testing. I had to use hub-centric rings to get the wheels on the back

Congrats man on getting your vehicle back! Must have been hell awaiting it's return. 8 months is a looooooong time to be without your baby.

I love it! Exhaust looks really cool and I love the look of the wheels. Illuminated door sills look great, too

Just one comment, though:

I don't think Bartholemew would appreciate his phone number being posted on the web

Yes agree 100%

Put on the stock wheels and return the Beyerns.

They look small now on the vehicle. If you want a lip, you should have gone bigger.

The stockers with no-lip look soooooo much better.

As foofitr said earlier in the thread, they're only his snow wheels.

i think the fact that Dinan takes 8 months before bringing something to the market speaks a lot to their investment to quality rather then cheap bang for the buck.

love the car!

Free? Very cool! 8 months is a long time though. I was gonna ask if you would bother with all this again now that X6M is available for sale, but now that I know it was free, I guess not! Love the exhaust tip btw.
