E70 stock suspension looks lowered see pics

I'm in the market for an older E 70 X5M and I came across this white one. The dealer says it's a stock suspension but it's sitting lower than most. Do you think it's stock suspension?

That's what I told him but he put it on the lift and took pics of the struts they are original with bmw stamps from 2010. He said he "thought" someone made an adjustment on the ride height in the ECU because it has auto leveling suspension.

Did he get pics of the front springs?

No he only took pics of the struts only I'm trying to get him to send me the pics. The strut was stamped bmw with a date from 2009. It's a model year 2010

Do people still 'cut' stock springs like they did back in the day? Basically a poor man's way of lowering a vehicle...

The E70 self-leveling suspension does not allow the vehicle ride height to be adjusted.

Here is the pic he provided. Car is probably from an auction who knows. He took a video of it for me and I swear I saw a puff of black smoke from the tailpipe on cold startup when he revved it up. Has an "aftermarket" exhaust with no stamp on the tailpipe. Probably oem exhaust with resonators removed.

It may be MISSING the spring. Here's a picture of mine and I think the strut is broken in the middle where the springs suppose to sit (spring insulator) I marked yours below too.

Doesn't look like OE coil spring and seem lowered and like what was mentioned earlier, the E70 self-leveling suspension does not allow the vehicle ride height to be adjusted.

This...the X5 M only has self-leveling suspension in the rear anyways...

This looks like the H&R 2" kit to me...I have the 1.2" kit and it's not anywhere nearly as low...

What color are the springs in the H&R kit? And why would the other pic show no springs if H&R kit?

I have the H&R 2" and it could be but still looks a little low. Have you driven it? How was it? I could imagine how rough the ride would be.

Mine were blue as well. Let me clear up what I meant. I meant, the initial picture looks like it's sitting on the 2" kit. I didn't see the other pic until now. You should have closed this thread the second you got a picture from the dealer that shows that the vehicle is missing a spring.

Run and don't look back...
