Question Park Brake Actuator Replacement

Hi all, regarding the replacement of the park brake actuator, does it have to be the exact same model number as the one removed?
I was told as long as it's off the same model year/version, then this should be fine, just wanted to double check?

Thanks

A couple members just did this on their X5s, you can ask in there, but they also posted a few options, one being $250 off of eBay.

Also, here is a great place to check for used parts...

I've seen quite a few parking brake actuators fail. Wouldn't buying a used one make it more likely the parking brake actuator is near the end of life too?
