I don't think you would be able to switch the shifters. The M5 uses a MDCT transmission which is basically a manual automatic transmission. There is no Park until you shut off the car unlike ours which has the button to put the transmission in park.

Maybe the ball style bade at the bottom of the shifters is the same and can be swapped out if disassembled.

Hey - I don't imagine the car needs to be re-programmed to accept the new shifter does it?
Specifically my current one is failing (sport/manual mode locked out at times) so would just be replacing like for like, same part number (p/n 61-31-9-228-610 ). *** E D I T *** Nevermind, I posted this question in another thread about replacement. I know my DIY is kinda long, but if you skip down to the PURCHASE GEAR SELECTOR section you can find out if what you bought will work in the E70/71…
