Get it checked by mechanic they told me everything is in great condition. I won’t take that word for it. DPF ash mass approaching 100, DEF passive tank random CEL, took it to BMW I don’t know what they did they CEL is gone and never come back again..... they told me it’s fine. Which I do not believe. Car pulls to the right all the time, took it to BMW, again they told me it’s fine..... rear air bag has been replaced twice, which is costly, but great for next owner which is brand new, also tires are brand new too....magical car, every time i take it to the dealer they told me it’s fine and not be able to recreate the problem, or they can recreate the problem they told me they have no idea where to start fixing it.

Oh to put icing on the cake, all the gasket in the engine appears leaking oil or coolant. Local shop told me it’s normal and every single BMW leaks..... I don’t believe that until I see my friend’s 2017 F30 340i, its leaking too....

Not that I know how successful it'll be as a platform, or if google indexes it, but this sounds perfect for VINwiki.

From the build date to today there are 2069 days, or 49656 hours.
Why was it 100% literally never turned off from the day it left the factory?

I just don’t have a habit to turn it off since 4 people are using the car and our shift is continues. In the winter you are not be able to turn your car off, because it won’t start again. Oil change usually takes about 20 minutes that’s the only time it’s turned off, while they are doing the rear suspension the car was on because it wasn’t winter, it has been pulling generators, loading concrete blocks, heavy equipments and more, fall in to the ditch multiple times and has been drag out by axle. Always towing above the limit.

Interior is fairly clean..... cause we covered it with those vinyl thingy, the thing you cover your pool with over the seat. Rear seat has been up for like 5 years

None of this adds up--

1. Your post history shows all kind of weird issues, obviously, which lines up
2. not too long ago you were buying a hamann kit for it? If this is infact a work truck, why get a a hamann kit on it?
3. Why was it NEVER turned off? It was used as what? Like a security truck where there are shifts that people just sit in it?
4. Why bother with all the mods you were trying in your post history?
5. Cars that fall in ditches and are used in heavy machinery operations do not clean up that well.

What's actually going on here? I'm just oddly confused.

I am retiring. So I don’t need a work truck anymore. In fact I probably will have like a 5 year gap before try to searching for another job. Originally thinking about throwing some body kit and do some stupid mods maybe able to join some sort of rally with it. Later found out the car was in a way worse condition. Mods are cheap, that body kit is like what..... $3000 at most darn cheap Chinese crap. Yes it’s like a security truck.... get it so much cleaned for a reason. Make dealer pay more money for my car. It cost me $500 to get it cleaned and that dealer is willing to pay $28k for it. Keep in mind BMW only willing to pay 16k for it. The car had scratched up trunk trims which been masked with putting a extra set of winter tire in it, rear door panel leather all scratched up, power trunk won’t work and a never be able to fix alignment issue

I was expecting to se a dusty wrinkly old X5 that tumbled in to a few ditches!

Either way, I work in the oil industry and hear about how on the slope you can't turn off your vehicle or it will freeze up and not start again. Crazy you put a vehicle through that much torment and it looks fine.

For you guys it’s good to know how durable X5 E70 actually is. We have another kids who drives a 15’x5 35i, having more trouble than I do. Although he isn’t a supervisor so his truck isn’t running all the time. We have to persuade him to keep it running so we don’t have to drop him off somewhere in Edmonton on our way back. Old bimmers are build to last, new one are build to lease. A very good friend of mine have purchased a 340i manual complain to me how much he wish he had just leased it. Oil leaks everywhere, issue with electronics although everything is covered under warranty he still don’t want to drive that 330i 4 banger loaner car.

Traded to a dealer, dealer always rip me off so that doesn’t matter. If I sell my car to a individual the car will usually be in a good shape since I get more on private sell than traded in to stealership.

So true.

When my 2011 X5 50i was in service for three days., I drove a loaner 2018 X5 35i., which felt absolutely pansy, like any Japanese appliance
