CCP X5 i50

Is there a way to know if a X5 i50 E70 on the market has the CCP completed? I have a feeling only BMW dealers have those records.

You'd have to contact a bmw dealer and hope they provide you the info, or perhaps contact BMW NA?

Even if it hasn't been done there is no expiration on getting this work completed, you could buy one that still needs all the work and bring it to any BMW dealer free of charge.

Also, it's a 50i. Or, xDrive50i. But it's really a 4.4L

Good to know! I'm looking for an X5 with the M sport package, but most of them in my area are the 8 cyl models.

So you are or aren't looking for a 50i (8 cylinder model)? If you're not, the CCP is not applicable.

I prefer the i35, but as I said most of the X5s with M sport around here are i50s. So I may need to go for the i50 for that reason. I wouldn't mind the extra power, but I'm concerned with the N63 reliability.

I had to tell my dealer parts guy (who sold me an oil filter housing wrench that didn't fit) that it was a 4.4 L when he tried looking it up as a 5.0 L.
Sigh.

Maybe that is why the wrench didn't fit.
