Will the torque and power values be based on the cars factory values? I.e. Will it be calculated rather than live?

± €600 or ± US$650 (VAT and installation included).

But you also get the Garmin navigation app with all maps (Europe or North America) (included, thus 'free of charge'), which you can also use when you're outside your car.

That looks way better in the pictures than the promo stuff. Excellent transparency and good DD info, Love the green 'CC engaged' indicator.

512Nm is "decent" pulling power. Does that maximum torque value vary or yitter much? Was that maxed out and can you see the overboost dropping out after 10s? (probably reached very high speeds by then).

I'm a little confused - would this work on a stripper car (I.e. No Nav) or is this more of an auxiliary display?

All the car operation data that is needed to drive this display is available on the Canbus of pretty much any BMW, stripper or NAV, certainly all E82. For the E8x - E9x platform, I'm convinced there is no difference in the information going round on the CanBus regardless of a NAV is present or not. (apart from the IDrive interface/knob instructions, not present in a stripper)

The NAV and speed limit part of the display however is fueled by a phone app (not the BMW NAV itself). So actually for a stripper you'd have somewhat higher value for money adding this display.

For a 1-series stripper, the green 'Cruise Control engaged' icon so far could not be emulated by any OEM solution, I'd expect for NAV cars that this is available somehow somewhere on the IDrive menu.

If I do get this, should I run the app on the phone that is docked (iPhone 4S without data service) or one that has data service (I would run Android emulation on my BlackBerry Q10)? The iPhone has become the central hub as it can run the M Lap Timer, BMW Connected, and GoPro (albeit only 1 at a time). I suspect it needs constant connectivity which means it make more sense to run it separately (so I get to keep my BMW Connected app running). Just thought I ask some one that actually has one as I seriously love this being a gadget geek

I'll respond to your questions shortly.

Had a 1000+ km trip today, so could extenisvely test this tool/gadget. Approved.

Here's a picture (+ close-up) that gives you a good idea of it. Very comfortable and relaxing to (physically) read the data at whatever time of day/night, also when you wear sun glasses (compare with the difficulty in reading the small black text shown inside the grey SATNAV screen blocks when wearing sun glasses). You can also adjust the brightness or leave it on automatic brightness (adapting to the environment darkness/light). I'll add both pictures to the first post of this thread.

My 1M engine is 100% stock (no tuning). Highest torque and power figures shown so far on the head-up screen: 551 Nm and 266 kW (362 hp [metric]). That's quite a bit more than the official figures (450+50 Nm and 250 kW (340 hp [metric]).

Questions: how secure is the wart thing for the display, how unsightly do you find it, and is it easily removable?

It works with any more or less new bmw, from e87 to f15. Got this about two months ago. The worst thing about it is how it looks: you need to spend the same price to fit it in your dashboard perfectly.
