I had a 2010 X6 35i with the N54 twin turbo engine, before they went to the N55 w/single twin-scroll turbo.

I never felt any lag in that car, at all. It was quick for its size running an I-6. Although on test driving both the 740li and the 750li earlier in the year, I noticed some really bad turbo lag in the 750li. The 740li (N55 engine) was willing to go.

So I am going to assume you have the X6 50i then? Sorry you loath the day you decided to get it. Try the 35i and you'll see, there's virtually no turbo lag.

In the X6's defense, I think that turbo lag is there with this twin turbo V8 that's used in the 5, 6, 7, X5, and X6 series cars in the US. I definitely didn't like it.

Or yeah, get an X6M.

I'm not sure is turbo lag or the old 6 speed transmission. My 12 750i feels slow off the line compared to our 13 X6 with the performance option and 8 speed transmission. The 8 speed is a significant improvement over the 6 speed.

No turbo lag here - except occasionally when slowing for a corner and then getting on it. I think the trans holds a gear or three too high. But off the line the X6 50i snaps with basically zero lag (I would say that it is a bit difficult to modulate the throttle - either snapping or going like a snapping turtle ).

PS - While I don't loathe the X6, especially with winter coming up, turns out, I am not a truck guy and can't wait to get back into a car for a daily driver.

For the money an M X6 costs, there are a plethora of other cars I'd rather have and that are actually worth the high price tag.

Agree with you here. Very similar experience. Maybe it is the tranny and not so much the turbo. Can't say for sure. I have the 2012 35i. I'm definitely not a truck guy either. Can't wait to jump on the M4 when it is available. By then, my daughter will be old enough to deal with sitting in the back of a coupe

I would prefer a stripped down M anyday over this perf edition

Why does everybody try to push their logic on buying cars. "You're stupid if you buy this". It's my money. If I like it I don't care what anybody thinks. I think the Bugatti is a ugly car. I wouldn't spend a million on it. Some people do. I don't criticize them. Everybody has different taste.

My view has always been, since it's my money I buy what I like and don't care what other people think.
