Memory seating positioning
So, this topic has been hit hard lately. I'm trying to help someone out that can't figure it out down to it's source. This isn't for my car.
Why does the memory seat button (1 & 2) not always work when you press it once, and only work when you hold it? I've read the manual and seen other posts with the : I guess my question is, why does it seem inconsistant? For my personal e92, I don't really care, because I just press and hold #1.

I don't think mine ever worked when just pressed once. Have to always hold it. Thought this was the norm?

On my girls car and my car all we have to do is press it once and it goes to the saved setting. It's never required to be held totally down throughout the duration of the movement. As far as it being inconsistent with it working and not working I think it has to be done at a certain time for example when you first open the door or when you turn the car on. I think it's kind of like the lights/stereo/windows once you open the door without the key they all lose power. I could be wrong though just my opinion.

It is in the manual. Check convenience mode vs safety feature. With door open or radio readiness on one touch will work. With door closed and ignition on you have to hold the button until done. To avoid uncontrolled seat movement while driving.

Now I've seen some cars where the seat set itself in position when one press the keyfob to open, rather than waiting for me to try to seat, discover that my wife used the car when my butt get stuck between the backrest and the steering wheel, press the button, wait, seat. Is this like an option or just I'm using it wrong ? |

You can then use "your" 1st memory for YOUR preferred position, and "your" 2nd setting for if you have passengers in the back seat... And so can your wife |

Ive notice on my e90, that if the fob is in the dash (just in the dash, ignition off), one touch works. If the fob is in my pocket, ill have to hold it in.

I always have to hold it until it gets to the saved setting. It never just auto goes to the setting after just pressing it once.
