can't find key icon on dash???

i've had my car for 1.5 weeks. when i got it, i remember seeing the key icon, where i scroll through the items on the turn signal stalk.

however, now when i scroll through, the key is not on the list. there is all the other items, such as setting the dash light strength, check control, setting date and time, but no key icon.

i tried opening, locking and opening the car multiple times. but still no key icon.

any ideas?

Going through the 2007 manual and im not seeing it, what can you change with it?

Not sure what you are talking about. Is there something specific you are trying to accomplish?

i'm trying to program some settings i believe get saved to the key. for example, when you click the open door button on your fob, you can set it to open just the driver's door, or all 4 doors. to program it, the manual says to scroll through the embedded scroller on the turn signal until you see the key icon.

when i scroll, i only see 3, 4, 6 and 7 on e92 enthusiast's image in his post. i want to see a key icon like is shown in my image below

Ah, I see. I have an owners manual pdf but it only seems to show how to access the key programing from the iDrive menu. It seems to be missing the part about programing it from the stalk. I am not near my car right now or I would check to see if it shows up on mine when scrolling through the menu.

Do this with ignition on or with the engine running. Settings are only available then.

Yeah you push the button then scroll up or down on the menu. You then access your profile.

BTW you have to be parked, or the car not moving. If your in motion it wont show that setting.

You set door locks through I Drive. If you saw a key on your dash it was probably because you we're out of the car while it was running and it was warning you that the key was not communicating with the car. A warning so that you do not drive off without the key if you have CA.

Hr doesn't have iDrive. He can set door locks and other settings (triple turn signals, DRL, etc) using BC stalk on the little red center display

Turn car ON and stay in park the key icon with check mark will be there...

BTW.... This is for NON-iDrive E90's

just to add, i do not have i-drive. i toggle through these icons on my dash in between my gauges. i had tried with the key in the ignition, and with the car on, but in park, and in all cases couldn't find the key icon. i'll try again this morning and report. thanks for your help so far

when i went back to car it worked. i think i may have confused it last night by clicking the open/lock button too fast and too many times. all is good now. thanks for replies.

my key settings are now

turn signal: 3x
open all doors upon 1 click of open button
daytime running off
lock doors after putting in drive
only flash lights (no audio) when unlocking/locking car

if anyone has any different ones and they don't like one of the settings i entered, let me know

I have the same options as you except for the daytime running lights. Stupid Canadian cars won't let you disable them lol.
