Three-strike starter engagemnet

New to the post and have an unusual problem. Every once in a while I'll put the 'key' into the dash and a 'steering wheel lock symbol' will appear and I can't start the car. If I remove it and replace it twice more it will then allow me to start the car. Frustrating! Before I call the dealership...does anyone know what's up?

I was getting the same thing for about a month, and then it mysteriously went away.

Mentioned it at my service appt 2 weeks ago, and the advisor said that the steering wheel is very sensitive. Don't move it until after you start the engine.

I never recalled trying to move the wheel prior to starting the car, but its good to know that I was not the only one having the problem.
