Anyone know what this light means?
Uploaded with ImageShack.us It only comes on when I shut the car off, then turns off when I open the door. There are no lights when the car is running. I checked my oil level and it said it was perfect. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Engine oil below minimum level.
At the next opportunity top up with 1 litre engine oil, see Owner's Handbook. Unfortunately the is no dipstick to confirm this. Probably best to add a little oil and see if light goes away.

If I can't get BMW oil this weekend what would be a good substitute? Or should I just wait until Monday?

If its an emergency I would try to find castrol edge or syntec (preferably european formula) in 0W30 or 5W30. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge than me will chime in.
At least call the dealer and speak with a SA and see what they recommend.

Before adding oil, check the level through the OBC (turn signal stalk switches) after the motor has warmed up and is still running. If you need a quart, you can use Mobil 1 0w40 (but not 5w30). Also, there should be a check control message if the level is down a quart or more.

It seems things have changed since I last used Castrol Edge for oil changes in my former e46.
The syntec line seems mostly to be merged with edge to be Edge with Syntec power technology. According to the product data sheet the 0w-30 and 5w-40 are approved replacements for BMW LL01: http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/bp..._Sept_2011.pdf Hope this doesn't add much to the confusion.

the two most common BMW approved LL-01 engine oils for non M cars are:
1. Mobil 1 0W-40 European Formula 2. Castrol Edge with Syntec 0W-30 European Formula most autoparts stores will carry either or both, it's typically 8-9 dollars a qt.

Pennzoil Platinum European Formula Ultra SAE 5W-30 isn't sold over the counter in the USA unless you go to a specialty retailer. Valvoline SynPower SAE 5W-30 is the wrong version: Only Synpower HST 5W-40/5W-30 have formal BMW LL-01 approval and I've never seen it sold OTC.
