Yeh after Wakefield last week I am getting used to the msport paddles. I might still try the m3 paddles but for now they are sitting in my office with the other bits waiting for install.

I have a 335i wheel for sale:

Just the wheel itself and paddles. Centre (horn), airbag and multifunction buttons not included.

No signs of wear.

PM if keen!

Pretty sure it's refering to the two inner buttons on the right hand side. The diamon and the star, which can be programed to do a series of different tasks.

I have one muting the radio on/off and the other turns on the internal air circulation on/off

so if we compare the two photos above? does that mean that they are not the same steering wheel and are not compatible? because i also currently have a star and diamond in my car. and the first photo above has like a circle and a CD button i think (not sure what it is)

so i should look for ones with just the star and diamond? or either doesnt matter?

There are two aspects to the multifunction buttons:

1) The pictures on them. Doesn't mean anything. If your car is programmed to do next audio source and aircon recirc, and you plug a picture of a star/diamond in, it'll still do next audio source and aircon recirc. This changed in late 09 on the E92s with earlier models having star/diamond and ability to user preset the button

And the important bit
2) Whether the MF buttons are compatible with steering wheel paddles. If your car doesn't have steering wheel paddles from factory it's very unlikely you have the correct MF buttons needed. You will most likely need new MF buttons (and you can order them with aircon symbol, star/diamond symbol, even the M button symbol) as long as it has the extra cables required to run the steering wheel paddles.

How would we know and where would we order the parts in from to connect the extra cables?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123

although its from an m3 would it also fit a 323i e90?

i would just have to bring it to a mechanic to retrofit it for me?

Yes that looks awesome, complete set, all that's needed is a harness for $120 and I would charge an hour and a bit labour to install.

EDIT: after reading eBay ad the guy has zero feedback and only wants payment by bank transfer, I wouldn't touch it unless he was willing to accept paypal and post internationally
