Blown turbo...

To replace the front turbo on my 2007 335i sedan do I have to bring the motor down? Or is there a way to go around that?

Yes I did is def the front turbo that took a shit. They are telling me they have to bring the motor down. I was curious to know if is true or they are trying to rip me off. I am new to the BMW scene I am just to working on Honda's which are so easy to work on.

Im not a mechanic.

yes the turbo can be replaced without pulling the motor. other people can chime in on it.

it's VERY TIGHT and if you havent replaced the turbos before would be quite difficult.

Motor doesn't need to come down but you will want to drop the subframe. Tight squeeze.
