Leather Damage covered under warranty? Pics inside

I noticed there are two issues with my leather.

1) There is a spot of damage of some kind on the passenger seat seen below.

2) On the drivers seat where the seatbelt touches the seat there seems to be some damage there as well as seen below.

Would this constitute warranty coverage car only has 9k miles, 2011?

BMW might hastle you, but that does NOT look like normal wear and tear for such a new car IMO.

before u decide to head to the dealer and ak if they will replace the leather, ask urself this first.

does it bother u THAT much?
because i had the same problem with my leather, there were wear marks about the size of a grain of rice on both of my front seats, it didnt bother me much but i talked to my dealer about it anyways and to my surprise they agreed to replace it. BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE. after they swapped the leather it never looked the same any more, the new leather looked loose and wrinkly and the tech wrote on the service report "leather looks looser than before, new leather needs to be sat in". what a fking joke.

if it doesnt bother u much i wouldnt get it replaced.

Wish I could trade places with you, I have that "protection package" that I got for $499, what a rip off, used it for 2 dings and 2 touch-ups. It covers interior like that.

Actually I did that with my Nissan when it was new, they cut the seat taking off the plastic. They replaced the leather cover, and since the side airbag has been flashing for about 7 years, the back fell off, and the seat is ripped whereas the pass is perfect. yeah, great warranty work. You want dealers monkeying as little as possible with your car imho....

That will be covered for sure. I don't think they will give you a hard time at all. I had issues with my drivers seat and brought it into the dealer. Had it back 2 days later fixed and matched perfectly. The repair success will be based on the person doing the repair and the proper materials being used. Of course like anything else that needs to be repaired (ie body panels) the success or failure of the match in color will always be based on pigment, dyes and color, age will be a factor and exposure to UV lighting will also be a major factor. If the car is fairly new and has limited exposure to sunlight (ie: You have window tint) then your repair should go well.

I dont think they'll cover it.

Do you have little rhinestones and designs on the back of your jeans? rivets? etc.

Techs are paid on a flat rate basis, which entices them to rush things unfortunately.

For only 9K, that is odd. The fact that it's where the seatbelt is, and not on the seat bottom, should be grounds for you to push them to fix it.

The only way to be sure is to bring it to the dealer and see if they'll cover it.

I've never had that in any of my cars, and I wouldn't like it one bit.

I was thinking jeans with rivets -- but if the car is under 1 year old, my guess is they'll cover it.
