ARGH!!!!

I was cleaning my wheels (since this is my first BMW, DAMN the brake dust is craszy!), and noticed the first flaw ever on my 3 day old baby. 2 out of the 3 LEDs on the front passenger puddle light are out, pix will speak for themselves.

Good thing I'm going in on Wed to get my CD changer installed so I'll tell them to fix it, still, the thought of them taking off the door panel on my 3 day old car is very irritating.

State of my front passenger puddle light:

The state it SHOULD be in:

I hope it is an isolated thing for your sake, and mine. I have the lighting package, and it is definitely NOT a good look to have such a feature not working properly.

Actually he said "2 out of 3" are out. You can faintly see in the reflection on the door that there are what looks like three led's. I can't believe the went out already. Did that door have some sort of jarring impact or anything that would help to explaing why they went out?

The pics are passenger side (top) and then presumably the driver or back lights. The top picture only has one illuminated LED.

Nope, nothing went wrong, they just went out by themselves.

Yeah I hope so, very annoying. I'll update on what the problem is once I get the car back from dealer tomorrow.

That's what I was saying when I rented the A6. They too have the ambiment light LEDs and I am thinking to myself. Damn I wonder how long these will last it's gonna be a grip to replace them after warranty. Guarentee 100-150 just for labor of taking the interior trim apart and replacing them. Someone need to come out with a DIY

After reading your post, I went outside and checked the door handle LED's that you have a problem with. It seems like there are only two LED's under the door handle, either that or I have the same problem as you. As far as I can see, I only see two LED's. I have an e92 (328i). Hope this helps.

Op, you gotta relax, dude. Trust me, there are a lot worse things that can break/happen to your car.

try failed engine (M3's from '01), broken window regulators, door seals coming off, mysterious rattles from inside, xenons that stop working, etc. If this gets you that upset, you're in for a ride when owning a vehicle.

yeah, puddle light is minor. Try a broken automatic steering wheel pump (e46), a broken winshield fluid container (e46), maaany broken windows regulators (e46), and a broken electric water pump on my current ride (e90). I would trade the puddle light for a workable electric water pump .

Since it being your first bmw, I don't blame you for feeling uneasy about the puddle light.

Hope yours go well cause my passenger seat now seems like it they didn't stretch the leather enough, looks very loose. I know it will looks loose after wear and tear thing for a while but it is way too worse than my driver seat and the driver seat is the one that gets sit on all the time.
after taking it there make sure you check it right there. Good Luck
