SF Trip + 335i + Vishnu + XEDE!!!

Left LA with 700 miles on the clock...Hung around the city for a few days...

Visited Pebble Beach...

17 Mile Drive...

And then there's Vishnu...

I really didn't know what to expect...It's been along time since I've paid someone to install something for me...

Remove the covers...

Undo the ECU wiring...

Xede...

Wiring harnesses...

Pick the wires...

Vishnu in action...

Plug it up...

Power to xede...

Ground...

Wire for vacuum solenoid...

DB9 for serial connection...

Upload the maps to the xede...

Vac tanks...

Bridge and tap...

Tap again...

Connect the hoses together..

Then we took the test drive...

Shiv drives like a mad man...I didn't think I would say this but the car is unreal! Faster than AA Stage I E46 M3...Spinning 275's through the first two gears....

There were two other 335's...including a 6 speed stick sedan...

6 speed stick coupe w/ exhaust...

Dynojet time...

6speed w/ exhaust gets 335whp! +90lbs of torque....!

Then it was my turn...

Roll up the fans...

Attach the rpm wire...

A/F meter...

Here we go...

My car ran 265whp/268.72lbs stock and 325.36whp/354.21lbs with xede! not to shabby!

Video of free revving...the turbos are crazy now...

http://e92.mit.edu/images/2006-12-19...e/MOV02550.mpg

Silver car...

http://e92.mit.edu/images/2006-12-19...e/MOV02561.mpg

My car...

http://e92.mit.edu/images/2006-12-19...e/MOV02588.mpg

Time for a fun drive back to LA!

It's like a AA Stage I E46 M3 SC for $1300...it's the torque you really feel =)

Thank you for the pics and post - really illuminated the whole XEDE concept. Congratulations!!!

Love those wheels also, which style is that?

Envy your ride - my 335 not coming for months still...

cars: yep he was installing in parallel...it's much faster that way...It took basically all day...we spent most of the time chatting...torque makes all the difference in the acceleration...

new: 19inch staggered csl reps from velocity motoring...they rub though since they are M3 fitment

Why did you get m3 fitment? How do you plan to address the rubbing?

Awesome results from the Xede.

Yes, this man is a BMW guru if I ever met one. Yesterday, he even helped us improve the design of our own kit!

FWIW, the production kit will be a bit different than the ones I've been installing myself. The wires will be loomed and labeled so it shouldn't really give anyone a hard time.

We just T another vacuum hose into the lines that go to the vacuum tanks. That's where we get the vacuum source for the aux. boost control solenoid that we install. I'm in the process of testing a version of the kit on my car that uses the factory boost control solenoids exclusively. This will save a couple of steps and make the underhood appearance look 100% stock.

keep us posted on that one... I would prefer to have the more stealthy version of the kit, even if it had slight power loss.

It does not surprise me that he was able to give you a few tips for improvement. Look like he approves your xede product as well. I dont think MITE46 is too worried about blown engine, if it happens, he can always add an engine himself . He is for real

Damn,

So assuming a 15% drivetrain loss and that my math is correct, at the crank:

Stock: 312hp/316tq

Xede: 383hp/417tq

Xede + Exhaust: 394hp

Xede and exhaust is approaching e90 M3 territory!
