2010 ordered

i'm brand new here but i just ordered a 2010 335i coupe.

details:
335i coupe
alpine white
black leather
aluminum trim
cold weather
m sport
comfort access
navigation
logic7 surround
ipod/usb adaptor

signed the order sheet 2 days ago. can't wait to get my car. it'll be quite the upgrade from the 2006 wrx i've been driving around. i wanted a more professional car that didn't lack performance. i'm also leasing the car not purchasing it (i'm fickle with cars).

for those curious.
price: 50, 350 (2k off msrp)
monthly: 551
due at signing: 8000

That's a great lineup of options. As for the wait, its true. Find a hobby that lasts 8 weeks.

$8,000 drive off sounds really high especially with payments of $551.

Congratulations. I'm right there with you. My dealer promised me first week of October, but with every passing day that my car is still "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date" I'm thinking that estimate was a little optimistic :\

Why on earth did you put $8000 down on a LEASE?? You better hope and pray you never have to unload it on a lease trade. Just remember, that $8000 could be making money for you even if you just put it in a money market account and add it to your (yes, higher) monthly payment.

50k at 2.9 for 60 months would be ~$750. So, he is saving $200 a month, which would be 12k in payments over 60 months but does not have a car that is probably work 15 or 20 at that point either.

Leasing still seems like a bad deal. 500 a month is like paying $25 a day to rent a car. Where is Dave Rasmey when you need him.

You will pay a lot less interest buying it. If you have the 8K then purchase with the 750 payment and use the 8K to kick $133 into the payment so compared to the lease your monthly payment hits your monthly cash flow for 750 - 133 = $617.

Grats and nice combo.

I only lease and have never put a cap cost reduction (8000 in your case) in the deal.
As long as you like it is all that matters.

I just ordered my 2010. I plan on leasing too, but it is a bad idea to put a large down payment on a lease. Use the cash to buy multiple security deposits - you can buy 7, each reducing your money factor by 0.0007
So, the MF goes from 0.0020 (Sept rates) to 0.00151

7 security deposits will be about $6500, and you will get the full amount back at the end of the lease. This ends up being something like a 27% return on investment. Plus, if something happens to the car, the security deposit is refundable but the down payment is not.

PM me if you need more info.
