Correct
No, it cannot be retrofitted Apparently has to do with emissions ( warmup time) and typincal driving conditios in USA compared to other markets

Must have a role based on the ....
...documentation that I got (...from EUrope.) It's esspecially good to have when driving in extreme temperatures because cools the oil in the hot weather and rises faster the oil temperature in winter. And thanks God, we have them both here in US. I guess this has more to do with BMW trying to make more profit on expense on the less tech. savy americans?!

Not many differences Basically Euro E90 one has oil/water heat exchanger ( just a small add on/change to the oil filter housing ) Euro ones have round air filters/ USA ones hae flat airfilters and a carbon filter after the air filter

Its just a slightly different oil filter housing with a coolan pipe running to it. Cost difference is very small The uprated ones in the USA Z4 and X3 facelift do have them though
