Sprint feature
My understanding of the sprint feature is that if you are cruising around in, say, M7 and want to accelerate fast, you can hold down the left paddle and after a second or two the car will drop to the lowest gear possible that will still be under the redline.
I noticed that I can activate sprint whilst stationary by doing the same (holding left paddle for a second or two). It will say 'sprint' in the instrument cluster. What's the point of this, what will this achieve? edit... I noticed that it even changes the HUD display mode to the sporty look. Last edited by SDKevin; 11-05-2023 at 02:49 PM.. |

It changes the point of next gear change to a higher rev point (essential gives you a “sport” setting).
Also sometimes when you are stop, you are actually in 2nd gear not first. |

Doesn't this only work in those modes anyway? If you do this in comfort I assume it just dumps you out of manual shift anyway. |

It basically puts you in manual sport mode and drops you to the lowest gear regardless of driving mode.

That was my understanding, assuming you are moving and want to accelerate fast. I'm just unclear what it does when you engage sprint mode when you're stationery.
