Front air intake mesh screen

My friend ordered this from Amazon.
Looks like it’s OEM, no more rocks, etc.

The zip ties even have the BMW logo on them...

Can you take a photo from farther, please? Does it look bad with it or is barely noticeable?

Zip ties are hidden inside. It honestly looks like it’s OEM from factory, can barely see it because it’s inside. You can’t see it from farther away because it’s black.

Zip tie thing was a joke, a sequitur to your OEM-look affirmation. It’s easy to hide them.

I asked for a picture from farther because I’ve seen a plastic one posted here before that was very apparent. Wondering how that looks from normal view, not macro.

I’ll take one next time I see him.

I actually have this one!! I was one of the first to order it and get it but I never installed it because I wasn’t too impressed by the amount of air flow restriction it created based on anemometric measures

Yea I’m with you on this one.
BMW clearly didn’t put something like this because they knew it would minimize airflow / cooling. I can understand why people want this though to avoid damage. Still baffles me that the engineers couldn’t come up with SOMETHING lol

Exactly. In all likelihood, most grilles won’t cause any significant cooling issues unless someone is pushing the car hard on a track but I just don’t like the idea that something can potentially be causing my cooling system to work suboptimally. I still think one of the best options to maximize cooling and prevent rocks is to go with an aftermarket rad that comes with its own steel guard… bmw could’ve easily made these in steel but they probably wanted to keep costs down…. I’m going to get the ones from Amazon too and try them out and also see what Zunsport will be putting out this week.

The ones from Amazon might be good because I see the lattice mesh is only 1mm thick

Right and they have different thicknesses too.

The zunsport one is supposed to be good once it’s out I’ve heard.

Keep me posted on the Amazon one I’m curious how it passes airflow tests.
