How to: code anti dazzle with BimmerUtility

Hello, thought I'd post this recipe to code anti dazzle using BimmerUtility (and esys, though you should be able to do this entirely in BimmerUtility).

1. Following this guide (https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...0&d=1438745738), VO code out option 5AP (Decoding Anti-Glare High-Beam Assistant).

2. Recode units BDC, FLM, KAFAS and MGU to factory values.
2a. Code back in whatever you had coded for these modules.

3. Code in these KAFAS values:
3100
COUNTRY_VARIATION: EUROPE_RC
3102
C_FLA_CC_MESSAGE_3: No_Cc_Message
C_FLA_COUNTRY_WITH_MULTIPLE_REFLECTORS: active
C_FLA_US_SENSITIVITY_MODE: Normal
C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH: Rest Of World
C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH: Rest Of World

Are these the steps to keep the high beams on full time?

"Full time", not exactly. The system activates only under certain conditions (speed, street lamps, etc).

But, when conditions are met, high beams stay on even with oncoming cars or following other cars, yes.

Yes, I guess that’s what I mean. For example, my Ford Super Duty is set to high beam all the time, but light go to low beam when oncoming traffic is present. It’s obviously not as advanced as BMW so it simply turns off high beams vs shaping the beam.

What’s the difference between this and the BimmerCode steps in terms of results?

Hard for me to say, haven't seen the Bimmercode results.

With this method, I am confident that, aside from country options, ALL parameters are set properly everywhere, since you remove the "decoding of antidazzle" from the vehicle order, then reset each of the units to factory values (with antidazzle now "not disabled").

Yeah, basically the "Automatic" setting of headlights now does more than turn high beams on and off. It really is set and forget, the car does the rest.

I'm very interested in trying this. Do you have the link to the source where this info was from, I'd like to learn more.

Thanks

This is the source :-)

But I gathered this from numerous threads in the g80 forum here, and other places I forget now. Note that I updated my original post to add the VO coding guide URL.

Coming here from the G05 section - would love to get instructions to accomplish this using only BimmerUtility if someone can provide the code or instructions.

The first part should be the same: remove the antidazzle decode from vehicle options, and I suspect you'll find very similar entries for the country-specific stuff.
