N54 exhaust smoke
Hello
The other day i checked my oil level before i drive the car and it was on max. I went out and did some junkie activity aka donuts and about an hour later after driving the car, my oil level went down a little bit right between the “max” and the middle of the gauge. The day after that, i started my car, waited about 5 minutes for it to warm up then i see a bunch of smoke. Not sure what it could be (possibly turbos are going bad ?) Current modifications: VRSF chargepipe w/Hks bov, VRSF downpipe, muffler delete, secondary cats delete, stage3+ spec clutch, MHD stage 2 E30 tune (1.5gE, 4g91) (g=gallons, e=e85), Eldor coils, 1-step colder spark plugs I dont know what the issue is but i asked my mechanic and he straight up told me its the turbos if the car is eating oil really fast and smoking that much Heres the video of the car smoking: https://youtube.com/shorts/p340fm6xV5M?feature=share Any detailed input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Also I have a wastegate rattle if that makes a difference. I bought the car with the rattle about 3 months ago |

Smoke on starts up generally means leaking valve stems.
IE: oil leaks last the valves into the cylinders and burns when the car is warming up. That’s not a common issue for the N54. What is a common issue is leaking turbo seals. Being you have wastegate rattle, I’d assume the turbos seals are leaking now. Add to that the complete straight pipe and it’s smoking. After the car is warmed up, does the car smoke at idle? |
