Question about installing aftermarket intake and exhaust
Hi everyone, so i'm currently seeking help on my 2007 BMW 328xi e90(Automatic & AWD) Im planning on installing a cold air intake and also a catless exhaust onto my vehicle. I'm wondering if I install both the intake and exhaust would need to be tuned. I'm worried about if it'll cause misfiring and then shortly will break down the engine and cause problems. so basically would it need to be tuned? Or if i install both the exhaust and intake my bmw would be completely fine?
Anything helps and thank you for reading my post |

Intake you will be fine as long as theres a spot to put the MAF (all reputable intakes do)
Exhaust you'll need a tune if doing catless headers, if it's anything after that wont need a tune

Personally I've been running catless headers with no tune for the past several months. Took my tune off for a track day because it made more power than I needed and I haven't put it back on yet.
The majority of intakes aren't an improvement (performance-wise) over stock for what it's worth. May be able to save a little weight without any IAT increase with a good CF one but that's about it.

This^^ The euro box and others may have a better filter/more surface area so you get a little benefit from it but not much. The only intakes that will actually gain some are ones that change the air feed path (Dinan etc)
