Oil in the intercooler?

I just had the intercooler upgraded on my 335i. Oil was found in the old intercooler. I have been told that is a sign I probably need to replace turbos. I will take it to the dealer, if this is the case. But, I just wanted to confirm this is the most likely problem. The car is an 09 with 68k miles, so that seems a bit soon for new turbos.

If it does need new turbos, would an upgrade be a good idea? I am open to doing other upgrades, but not in any hurry. I do have somebody who can do any upgrades I need.

Thanks for any help.

Not nessasarilly Means the turbos are bad. Every turbo car I've owned has some oil in the ic. Bad pcv system will cause more oil.

Yeah mine was always like that too. I'm not worrying about it. It's a very small amount.

Upgrade the PCV valve, replace the PCV vent hose/ valve & add a BMS catch can.

You won't see oil in the charge pipe or FMIC.
