Airbag Deployment and Clock Spring

I had a minor collision and my steering wheel airbag deployed. Is it mandatory to replace the clock spring when replacing the airbag?

Okay. I haven't put the new airbag in yet but all of the steering wheel controls and column switches work. If the horn works when I put the airbag in, I guess I"m good.
