Yeah most Indys can do it .
But before you get all stoked. In a most cases there is no noticeable difference. It might do something like changing the sound of your gongs. If you really want to make some changes you can see and use learn to code or buy the Bimmergeeks Pro Too package. |

Yes, after running bimmerlab's tune, my DME software was updated and now I have an error code that the transmiss has lost communication.
Fault: CF1C We are thinking the software on the transmission isn't matching up with the DME software. The car is a 2007 BMW 328 now with stock tune and auto GM transmission. Last edited by Pinscher; 02-12-2019 at 10:13 PM.. |

Do you know if the DME tune has the same I-level as the transmission software? I would contact them and ask if they have a version of the tune that matches your I-level. If not, you can try doing it using a software version of the same I-level.
The BMW dealer will remove your tune because they will update every module in the car to the same I-level. It'll also take them a really long time. They don't have the ability to update single modules. |

Thanks for the details guys.
I actually put the car back to stock tune in hopes it would fix the communication error, but unfortunately, that did not work. So this is why I think the version of the DME software is not matching the transmission. |

Your dealership must be awesome, on the east coast the bmw dealer just wants every last dime they can get out of you. Everybody local to me wants one hour of labor to do any sort of software updates, and if they brick anything you have to pay for it. They actually encouraged me not to do any firmware updates because if they brick the FRM it’s $1000.

My SA is a semi car guy...we talk about N54's B58s...i'm still getting rip off dealership prices, but he's pretty honest with his repair diagnosis and gives me small discounts here and there and throws in small free stuff like updates and flashes when he can. |

I just got my OEM Icom and I attempted to update my car. Software updates and flashing are risk and I see no issue why a dealer would want that much to do it.
